JAMMU (VEN): Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained two habitual bovine smugglers under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
“Two habitual offenders, identified as Raj Ali, son of Barkat Ali of Mantalai and Ghulam Qadir, son of Mazin Din of Jig Ganshad have been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) for their notorious activities in bovine smuggling following a detention order by the District Magistrate Udhampur,” police said in a statement.
“Both the accused were involved in multiple cases of bovine smuggling, with several complaints registered against both of them at Police Station Chenani. Despite repeated warnings, they failed to mend their ways and continued engaging in activities that posed a threat to communal harmony in the region,” the statement said.
“Keeping in view of their repeated involvement in bovine smuggling cases, both the accused were ordered to be detained under Public Safety Act,” the statement added. (VEN)
