SRINAGAR (VEN): While continuing its operation against drug peddlers, Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a residential property of a notorious drug peddler under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985 in Pampore town of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Thursday.
Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a single-storey residential house valuing approximately 25 lacs of a notorious drug peddler namely, Tajamul Masoodi, son of Late Badrudin Masoodi of Bagander, Pampore.
He is involved in many FIR’s and is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by SHO Police Station Pampore, Inspector Naieem Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, Krishan Rattan. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.
“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Awantipora Police to combat the drug menace,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, locals have hailed the initiative of Awantipora Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Awantipora. (VEN)
