MeT Forecasts Dry Weather In J&K From April 1

SRINAGAR (VEN): As the rain lashed plains and higher reaches received snowfall, the Meteorological Department (MeT) on Friday forecast rainy weather in Jammu and Kashmir till the end of this month.

The Meteorological Department (MeT) also forecast dry weather in the Union Territory from April 1.

“The weather forecast indicates that on March 29 and 30, there will be light to moderate rain or snow in most areas, including the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, with heavier rain or snow expected in isolated places during the evening and night of March 29-30,” an official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said.

“The forecast suggests that on March 31, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy with intermittent light rain or snow at a few places of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

“Generally dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir from April 1-5, with light rain at isolated places on April 3,” he said.

Meanwhile, the the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 8.2°C, Qazigund 8.4°C, Kupwara 7.3°C, Kokernag 7.7°C, Pahalgam 5.0°C and Gulmarg 0.4°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 19.6°C, Katra 16.1°C, Batote 10.1°C, Bhaderwah 9.6°C and Banihal 10.4°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 3.7°C and Kargil 2.7°C as the Minimum temperature. (VEN)
