SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a significant operation against Drug trafficking and Narcotics-related crimes, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached five five residential houses and three vehicles collectively valuing at ₹4.3 crores, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Saturday.
“A single-storey residential house of Reyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar of Hassanpora Tawella was attached for his involvement in several NDPS cases, Similarly, a double-storey residential house of Mohammad Yousuf Reshi, son of Ali Mohammad Reshi was attached by Bijbehara Police over his links to a major narcotics recovery case, a single-storey residential house of Subzar Ahmad Mir, son of Sonaullah Mir was also attached in Hassanpora Tawella, a double-storey residential house of Mohammad Shafi Dar, son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar of Tulkhan Bijbehara was attached for his involvement in NDPS activities, and residential house valuing at ₹30 lakhs of a habitual offender Abdul Hamid Chopan was attached by Achabal Police in Malpora Ranipora,” police said in a statement.
“Three vehicles, a Santro Car bearing Registration Number JK02B-6823 belonging to Mohammad Shafi Dar, a WagonR bearing Registration Number HR28C-9580 owned by Manzoor Ahmad Mantoo of Waghama Bijbehara, and a Toyota Corolla bearing Registration Number HR51AL-0505 registered to Rahul Singh of New Delhi were also seized,” the statement said.
This decisive action is part of ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in the region.
“These proactive measures reflect the commitment of Anantnag Police to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring that those involved in such crimes face stringent legal consequences. By targeting the properties and assets of offenders, the police aim to deter further illegal activities and disrupt the financial backbone of drug networks,” the statement added.
